Namibia as a business location: key sectors, investment opportunities and the role of the Honorary Consulate.
The Republic of Namibia is one of the most politically stable democracies in Africa and offers a wide range of opportunities for sustainable economic cooperation. The country is characterised by reliable institutional structures, an open market economy and close economic and legal alignment with international standards.
With an average real growth rate of around 3.5 to 5.5% in recent years, the Namibian economy has stabilised again after cyclical fluctuations – particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The economy has a gross domestic product of around 12 to 13 billion US dollars and is strongly export-oriented.
A particular political highlight is the country’s leadership: with incumbent President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, an experienced politician stands at the head of the country. Namibia is thus one of the few African states led by a woman in the highest office of government.
Namibia is located in south-western Africa on the Atlantic coast.
The Honorary Consulate supports companies, institutions and organisations from Hesse in establishing and deepening business contacts with Namibia.
This includes, in particular, facilitating initial contacts, supporting institutional relations and assisting in initiating cooperation projects in business, science and civil society.
